      Miles Blundell late of Birkdale proved 26 August 1823
      This  is the last Will and Testament of me Miles Blundell of Birkdale in the County of Lancaster yeoman First I order and direct all  my just debts funeral expences and the charges of the probate of this my will to be paid out of my personal estate and if that be insufficient for the discharge  of such debts I charge such deficiency upon my real estate   I give and devise  unto my Friend Robert Wright of North Meols in the said County Shopkeeper and my son  in Law Hugh Gregson the Cottage and  premises  which I purchased from  Joseph Marshall to hold  to them  their Heirs and Assignes Upon Trust to pay  unto or empower my wife to receive the rents issues and profits of the same premises to and for her own use and benefit for and during her natural life if she so long remain my widow and unmarried  And from and after the decease or marriage again of my said wife Upon Trust to pay unto or permit my Daughter Alice Gregson to receive the rents issues and profits of the same premises to and for her  own use and benefit for and during her natural life and from and immediately after the decease  of the said Alice Gregson  to the use of the Children of the said Alice Gregson as tenants in common and then respective  heirs and assigns  I give and bequeath unto my said wife for her  life if  she  so  long  remain unmarried the use  and enjoyment of all my household goods and furniture And subject to such  use and enjoyment I give and bequeath the same household  goods and furniture to my said Daughter Alice Gregson  I give divise and bequeath unto my said
      If at any time she may choose to occupy the same and upon further trust that they may said trustees shall and do as soon as conveniently may be raise and levy by mortgage of from the rent of the same estate and premises or by both those means  the sum of twenty pounds  and pay the same unto my said Daughter Alice And subject to the said annuity to my said wife as aforesaid and to the payment of the said sum of twenty pounds to and other the estate and Interest of my said Daughter Alice I give and devise the same Estate unto my son John Blundell his Heirs and assigns for and during all my estate term and Interest therein I also give devise and bequeath my Estate in Church Town within North Meols aforesaid unto my said Daughter Alice Gregson and her Assigns for and during her natural life And … and immediately after her decease I give devise  and bequeath the same unto and to the use of her Children share and share alike as Tenants in Common  and their respective Heirs and Assigns And lastly after payment of all my just debts as aforesaid and subject to the bequests  hereinbefore contained I give and bequeath all and singular the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects  whatsoever and wheresoever unto the said Robert Wright and Hugh Gregson and the Survivor of them the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor Upon Trust to sell and dispose of collect and get in the same and to invest the money arising  from the said fesidue upon good securities  and pay and apply the dividends and Interests of the said Secutities  unto my wife during her natural life if she shall so long remain my Widow and unmarried and from and after her decease or marriage again Upon Trust to pay the said Interest and dividends of the said residue unto my said Daughter Alice Gregson
      Of such Survivor do and shall pay the rents issues and profits of the same Estate and farm unto my said son James shall alien sale assign incumber or transfer or in any manner  dispose of or anticipate the payments of the rents issues and profits  of the same Estate and farm  or any part thereof then and in such case and from and immediately after  such alienation sale assignment or  transfer the payment of the same rents issues and profits and the use and extate is given to him therein shall cease and be void  to all interests and purposes and I direct my said trustees to pay the said rents issues and profits unto and equally amongst the children of my said son James  I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife and her assigns for and during her natural life if she shall so remain my Widow and unmarried an annuity or yearly sum of twelve pounds to be issuing and payable out  of my Estate  in Birkdale aforesaid Called the South end Estate and to be paid and payable in manner as hereinbefore mentioned with respect  to her other annuity And I do hereby charge and subject the same Estate and with the payment of the said annuity or sum of twelve pounds accordingly and I direct that in default of payment the  same shall and may be  recoverable by distress  as rent upon demise  is recoverable and sugject to the said annuity of twelve pounds I give and devise unto the said Robert Wright and Hugh Gregson their Heirs and Assigns Upon Trust to permit and empower my said Daughter Alice to have the use and enjoyment of the house part known by the name of Betty’s parcel of the same premises
      If  at  any time she may choose  to occupy the same and upon further Trust that they my said trustees shall and do as soon as conveniently may be raise and levy by mortgage or from the rents of the same estate and premises or by both those means the sum  of twenty pounds and pay the same unto my said Daughter Alice and subject to the said annuity to my said wife as aforesaid and to the payment of the said sum of twenty pounds  to and other the estate and  Interest  of my said Daughter Alice I give and devise the same Estate  unto Son  John Blundell  his Heirs and assigns for and during all my estate  term and Interest therein I also give devise and bequeath my Estate in Church Town within North meols aforesaid unto my said Daughter Alice Gregson and her Assigns for and during her natural life And from and immediately after her decease  I give and devise and  bequeath the same unto and to the use of her children share  and share alike as tenants in Common and their respective heirs and Assigns And lastly after  payment of all my just debts and aforesaid and subject to the bequests hereinbefore contained I give and bequeath all and singular the rest residue and remainder  of my estate  and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto the said Robert Wright and Hugh Gregson and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor Upon trust to sell and dispose of collect and get in the same and invest the money arising from the said residue upon good securities  unto my wife during her natural life if she shall so long remain my widow and unmarried  And from and after  her decease or marriage again Upon Trust to pay the said Interest and dividends of the said residue unto my said Daughter Alice  Gregson for  and  during her natural life And from  and immediately  after  the decease  of the said Alice Gregson  to pay and divide the said residue money and Interest then due thereon unto and amongst such of the children of the Said Alice  Gregson as shall be then  living  share and share alike and  the issue of such  of her Children as shall be then  dead such issue to take the share  which their parents would have taken if then living and I appoint my said wife and the said Robert Wright and Hugh Gregson Executors  of this my Will and  revoke all former Wills and I do hereby declare that they their Heirs Executors and Adminstrators shall be chargeable only for such monies as they shall respectively actually receive by virtue of this my Will and that they shall not be answerable for each others acts And I declare that the receipts of my said Trustees and Executors shall be good and sufficient discharges and I direct them to retain out of mly effects all costs they may be put unto in the Execution of this my Will In Witness  whereof I have here unto set my Hand and Seal the twenty Seventy day of July in the year  of our  Lord  one thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
