    Notes
    • birth and chr 1822 James # 271 Son of Thomas Rimmer Weaver of South Port and Alice his Wife (formerly Ball) was born May 12 baptised the 19th 1822 by me Henry Anderson Minister

When James Rimmer marries he states that his father is Thomas Rimmer Farmer.  James is of Birkdale.  There is a Thomas Rimmer who is having children is a farmer and living in Birkdale but there is no record of a child James being born to him.  He is person # 16457.  There is also born 24 December 1820 James son of Betty Rimmer Haweside widow.  I don't at this time know who she was married to or who the father of that James is.  There is also born 24 September 1820 James son of Thomas & Martha Rimmer London weaver.  He has one sibling.  I haven't found in the 1841 census where they are other than they are not in London.  The remaining 4 James born in the right time period are the sons of John 14 May 1820, and 27 August 1820, Peter 24 December 1820 and James 8 December 1822.  At the present time I think Thomas Rymer chr 1 January 1800 is the best choice but I have no indications that he was a farmer in later life.  Also he is not living with his parents in the 1841 census, could be off working or since he appears to be a book-keeper being educated.  JLCO
